What is the problem?
Right now, our healthcare workers are on the frontlines of battling the COVID-19 pandemic that is spreading fast across our city and nation. Every day our doctors, nurses, drivers and cleaners are risking their own lives to care for coronavirus patients in critical conditions. The vast majority of them serving in public hospitals are working around the clock for an average of 14-day shifts. Under the current circumstances, the lack of access to cooked and nutritious meals is among the most pressing challenges they face.
So, what is Sastodeal and WHR / Chhahari doing?
Sastodeal is joining hands with Women for Human Rights (WHR) and Nepal Medical Association (NMA) to deliver hot nourishing meals to our dedicated healthcare workers currently serving patients in COVID wards of public hospitals such as Bir Hospital, Teaching Hospital, Kanti Children’s Hospital, Gangalal Hospital, Prasutigriha, Teku Hospital and others.
During the first COVID lockdown, WHR served over 40,000 cooked meals to daily-wage earners most severely affected by the economic fallout of the pandemic. At the time, Sastodeal supported the food drive by providing over 1,300 kg of rice, which it collected with the help of its customer network. Once again, Sastodeal will offer help to where it is needed most.
Let us show our deepest gratitude to the men and women for the sacrifice they make every day by offering them nutritious meals.
